I rarely shop on a list, only for holiday meals or when I need specific ingredients that I don't normally get. I changed to shopping less often to thwart the grocery game, less often means less chances to overspend. We defy some of the norms though, we enter on the left and go clockwise in our regular store. It's convenience - the road and parking lot entrance we use are on that side. Oh, and I agree about leaving the kid/spouse at home. I can get it done for less and in less time without Mr M, but he insists on coming!
