I agree with your point of view. Creating a good balance within the realm of frugality actually makes it easier, in my opinion. I find it easy to be conscious at all times of my spending and the way I use resources. Being quite frugal, but not excessively so, still allows for me to have fun while doing it, because I know what works for me and my parameters, so I can feel comfortable knowing that if I want to take my fiance out to a nice dinner, I can without really having to worry about how much that will impact my finances. There is a lot of fun in frugality!

Nice post! I learned this last year that I have a problem with starting small and was the reason why I would try to create habits that didn't stick. We do watch what we spend on groceries. We try to pick up coupons for stuff we buy, but that is not an accomplished skill for us, yet.
Thanks!

I am big on coupons too, but you should remember that sometimes they make you want to buy things you really dont need. Have you tried FoodSupport before? They offer a $250 gift card for many popular grocery chains after you fill out the requested info. http://www.foodsupport.org

This is some good advice. I especially agree with the take it easy. I would also say to take it easy with every little savings. If you drive all over town to save 50 cents on one item, you've probably more than negated those savings by the gas you've burned through. It's a good idea to plan a route so that you are buying multiple items at once.

I like your advice to take it slowly and branching out. I'm always finding new ways we can be frugal, it's a process.
