Great Post.

You make a very valid point and that is that a lot of people assume that just because an item is in their budget that it gets priority.

Prioritzing your expenses combined with budgeting is a powerful way to manage your finances and to get back in control

Miranda, this is excellent information. A lot of people are either unwilling or unable to differentiate between wants and needs, but you really break it down. Thanks for a great post!

Great Post. I am going through this right now in my life. I have been a impulse buyer for the last year or two and now trying to get my finances in order through a budget. There are many things that you consider that are needs but really are not. It really takes adding up your expenses and see how much money you spend on items like fast food, electronics, and other wants compared to your basic needs in life. I thought i could not give up fast food for lunch till i saw i spent more on fast food then groceries.
