It's not very efficient for me to get to! And I can't really ride my bike to the grocery store, because the nearest one is roughly 9 miles away. I suppose if I were in better shape I could, but I've usually got two kids with me, and where would I put my groceries??? I do group all of my errands together so that I can get them done with the least amount of driving though. I'm afraid that's the best I can do living out in the boonies!! I live smack in the middle of several useful bus routes and I buy a monthly pass pre-tax, so it's worth it to use it! I still take long trips to see friends using my car, but I don't buy much gas for everyday stuff. Also, I am less road rage-y and able to listen to music and relax! This book sounds fun!
