I absolutely believe we need change in our cars. Look at Asia and Europe. People do not drive around in large SUVs or cars. And part of the problem, which I don't get but you will is child car seats. They are HUGE.

In Europe and Asia they have smaller seats that can easily fit three kids in a VW rabbit or jetta. Here you have trouble even with one large seat in a corolla size car.

I guess part of it is that people are afraid of not having a big car seat because they have such large SUVS and cars around. BUT if we move towards smaller cars, does that mean smaller car seats and less need for bigger cars?

Great post. I think you are right, but I do hope a lot of people keep their focus on fuel economy should gas prices come down, and that the focus on fuel efficient technology continues.

I, for one, am so happy to see less SUV's on the road. I personally think that unless you live in the mountains or have some other justifiable need for a heavy-duty vehicle, you don't really need to drive one.

I also hope that this drives American car manufacturers to produce alternative energy cars. This is really an opportunity for the US to become competitive again - I hope they seize the moment!
