I read similar article also named g no to your kids, and it was completely different. Personally, I agree with you more, because this article makes a little bit more sense for me

How abut saying no to yourself? I am a terrible impulse shopper. Well, sometimes. Sometimes I can talk myself out of new underwear, even if I really do need it.

BTW, love your new look : )

You know, this is what has prompted me to write my article (thanks for the link BTW!) - I started noticing that my daughter thought it was automatic that when we walked into a store that she would get something. I tell her now, just like you suggested, that she's not getting anything before we even walk in. I let her pick something to carry around with her while I am shopping and then she has to put it back before we leave. It works well so far and it's amazing how just a little putting the foot down switches them out of that gimme mode quickly.
